Rights advocates praise college's transgender inclusive policy

The Freedom Indiana advocacy group says Ivy Tech Community College’s new transgender-inclusive policy will help protect transgender and gender-nonconforming students and faculty from discrimination, but work remains to be done.

The group said the policy’s guidelines grant transgender and gender-nonconforming students the right to express their gender identity openly or to keep it private; and it allows students to use facilities that match their gender identity.
