Aren’t everyone’s prints already on file through the DMV? The iPhone can't easily be opened without a "live" fingerprint. The technology looks for biometric factors to be sure it's a real finger, and not an impression or a print.
I think that someone has been able to defeat it, after a lot of trial-and-error. But, that was an early version of the sensor.

I know of no states that require a fingerprint for a DL...
