It’s clearly a procative line aimed at selling books, but the truth isn’t far from the hypothesis. We only need do a 360 degree scan of contemporary America to see ample proof - whether it’s federal goverment policy encroachment like Obamacare and Dodd-Frank to the silly transgender business that challenges even the fundamental definition of what is a man vs. a woman, the forces of liberalism have pushed traditional America over the edge.
While I haven’t listened to the full interview yet, but if the source of our liberty is the inalienable rights endowed on us by God, then the answer is no. But that doesn’t mean in a practical sense that we may have reached the point of no (or a very difficult) return.
