As Donald Trump jags across the country, battling an onslaught of sexual misconduct allegations, his party's opposition and the media, Clinton has stepped cautiously on the campaign trail.
She rarely makes news or veers from her script. She keeps a plodding schedule of modest-size events. She relies heavily on her cast of loyal - and arguably more effective - surrogates. And she doesn't overdo it: With just less than a month left to campaign, Clinton was fundraising in California on Thursday and expected to spend most of the weekend out of the public eye.
"Make no errors, do no harm," said Republican strategist Rick Tyler, who worked for Trump's primary rival Sen. Ted Cruz. "(Trump) has no ability to make good news about himself. Like none. So why not just let him go?"
The news about Trump has overshadowed potentially damaging reports about Clinton based on thousands of hacked emails that apparently came from the email account of her campaign chairman, John Podesta. The campaign has not confirmed the authenticity of the emails.

Since these reporters are dumb as rocks I will have to make an intervention.
Hillary’s campaign staff are currently debating the pro and cons of dropping out of the final debate.
If they drop out their strategy will be:
—Hillary is terrified that that “the big mean guy will assault her on stage”. She has already said that she was terrified of the Donald hovering over her in debate #2. (Of course she had to move towards him to make that happen, but whatever, this is about fake feelings you know.)
—The campaign has gotten away from issues and into a name calling contest. She believes that she can better present her views in other formats (such as delivering her message to very tiny crowds—hee hee) such as interviews by her media friends.
—False flag scenario (I have discussed elsewhere on FR)—Appear Presidential in a time of crisis—Go to the White House, confer with the Joint Chiefs, photo ops, whatever, make stuff up...
Cons:
—Her low information voter supporters are conventional thinkers and it might jar them a little if she breaks precedent. They might start asking embarrassing questions about her health or actually go on the Internet and read about Wikileaks...
—Her MSM friends (well, some of the ones that are not totally in the tank for her—that means the ones who haven’t been videoed molesting small children or farm animals) might ask the same questions as the low information voters
OK—so pretend you are the Hillary campaign strategist—which way do you go?
Every local TV station is a surrogate for Hitlery...or nearly every one.
Trump WANTS the job. He is working. Hitlery expects to inherit.
That sounds about right to me. She does have an advantage in this race though, that she didn't have against Obama. She is the selected one, and the press is bound to support her regardless.
More like a “do nothing” campaign. She doesn’t have to campaign, the media is doing it all for her.
Why work when you can cheat? That is her plan plain and simple!

I agree. The Clintons screwed up by springing their October Surprise so early. It would have been devastating to have it released on the final weekend, but the Wikileaks dump forced their hand. Now they’re gonna go overboard on the parade of bimbos because what else have they got?

What about the hundreds of millions of dollars the campaign has, and is, spending to selectively highlight and funnel the graphic words spoken in private years ago by Trump into every den, living room, playroom, and wherever else families and children can be found?
A man speaking such distasteful things is to be censured. But what about a woman (a mother and grandmother) whose passion for power and status allows, even compels, her to pay millions and millions of dollars to selectively and hypocritically frame and emphasize those same words and ideas in order to be pour them into the homes of "the children" she claims she wants to protect?
What hypocrisy!!
Who has proved to be the greater polluter of the culture?
What mother can approve of another woman who will pay millions of dollars in order to send such words into her own private home, and then have the audacity to ask that mother for her vote?
