In my lifetime, I’ve never seen a better time for Russia/China to hit us militarily. We’re weak, divided morally and politically, low military morale...

Exactly. And none of it by "accident", "incompetence", "inexperience" or "naivete". Obama and Co did it deliberately.

Turkey is pulling out of NATO and is supporting Russia. Erdogan believes the US and Russia will be at war soon. And the DefCon Private Warning web site has us at DefCon 3. Time to prep slackers.

Let slip the dogs of war. If the Russkies and the Chinks do this, it'll go nuke in short order. Then pull the chain on all of it and let the world be destroyed. If this bitch gets in The White House it's only a matter of Armageddon sooner or later. I'm serious. I'm too old to really care anymore. I'm that heart broken over what has happened to the country I love. If Trump doesn't win, what's the point of going on?

I wish that the NYT/WashPost/BostonGlob would publish articles about these warnings, AND about WikiLeaks. The lies they publish about “inappropriate touching” are of no interest!!!!

Of course, if they published vital info about Hillary and war, few people would vote for Hillary. That would end all the lucrative deals that these worthless publications have with the clintons!!!

Besides all that, obama has been gradually getting rid of generals and admirals who won’t go along wth his politically-correct, “gay”/feminazi-freiendly agenda for the military. Of course, since the military is for preventing and fighting wars—NOT “social justice”, the military is ill-prepare to deal with the realities we face.

Many of the ousted generals and admirals have endorsed Donald Trump. They are a better group than what obama has put in charge today!

Could also be good acting re a “Potemkin Village” puffing of their military strength/plans, or Putin, Lavrov etc are batshit crazy and will risk some kind of war just to show how tough they are.

I’m sure Pres. Obama and Clinton are really going to stand up to Putin. Obama is out of here in a few months, leaving America in strategic decline.Hillary will cave in like a hungry prostitute being offered $5.00 a trick or a shot of H.

I’m looking for a good cave in the mountains of W. Va or Va. Move over bears, a new dog is moving in.

I see it more as Putin thinking that Hillary is going to win, remembering what Bill did in The Balkans, and is essentially sending a message to Hillary saying, “There will be no Kosovos this time.”

Jerry Pournelle’s comments on the Syrian no-fly zone, which is the likely fuse on this. First an article quote on a Russian IADS deployed in the region, then his comments:

The S-300V/S-300VM/VMK/Antey-2500 is the world’s only truly mobile Anti Ballistic Missile system, and later variants are claimed to be capable of intercepting 4.5 km/sec reentry speed targets. The large size of the Grill Pan phased array and TELAR command link and illuminator antennas is evident. The system provides the capability to engage very low RCS aircraft at ranges in excess of 100 nautical miles. Below: 9M82 Giant round The highly mobile Antey S-300V and S-300VM remain one of the most lethal area defence SAM systems ever developed, firing hypersonic missiles designed to engage aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
Designed from the outset for high mobility and effectiveness against targets at all altitudes, the S-300V would have been a key player in any late Cold War conflict. This weapon was developed to provide not only long range area defence, but also to engage and destroy ISR assets like the E-3 AWACS, E-8 JSTARS and U-2, and tactical jammers like the EF-111A Raven and EA-6B Prowler.

http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-Giant-Gladiator.html

Note the capability against AWACS and JSTARS. Declaring a no-fly zone is a matter of words; imposing one is a matter of forces within 100 nautical miles.

We can’t afford more wars in the Middle East. We already owe — every man, woman, and child each owes – some $60,000. We can’t pay for another war.

We have chosen the anti-Slavic side in the European conflicts. We have allowed the invasion of Kosovo by Albanian refugees, then used the presence of those refugees to force the Serbians out of Kosovo. We then bombed Serbia and dropped the bridges over the lower Danube, destroying the economy of nations dependent on Danube transportation. We bombed the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade; something the Chinese are unlikely to forget just as we have not forgotten attacks against our various embassies. Neither the Russians nor the Chinese love us, and our service to China in the Open Door era is long forgotten, as is our industrial contribution to Russia in the Second World War.

Imposing no-fly zones on Russia will be expensive if even possible.

************************************************

Not to mention extraordinarily foolish, from a nuclear brinksmanship standpoint.

Re: “How did it come to this?”

Our nation has turned away from God. Even so, in Him there is still hope. We don’t know the end of the story. The United States has seen dark times before, yet we came through many crisis in the past. But, the answer is repentance back to God. It starts with us as individuals. We have no control over anyone else, so we must focus on ourselves first.

No matter what the future brings to our country, God is still there. We must not give into despair. Trust in Him through His Son Jesus - He will bring us through no matter what. I believe we are in for dark times as a nation, but that doesn’t mean it’s hopeless. Our citizenship is in heaven, in His Kingdom - we must remember that.

Yeah, chasing God out of the classroom sure didn’t usher in The Age Of Reason.

Though I don’t think at the time the Supreme Court decision against teacher led prayers in public schools meant eradication of religious discussion in the classroom or acknowledgement of God and Christianity, that’s what the practical effect was.

I would say that that court decision, the abortion decision (Roe v Wade), and the recent “right” to same-sex marriage decision were definitely milestones on the road to our descent as a nation away from God, but, again, if we as a people, beginning with believers, truly repent, there is always hope in Him - even if our nation as whole does not repent, Jesus has promised His children to never leave us or forsake us. So, jmacusa, we must not despair. There is great joy in knowing and serving God no matter what the rest of the world does. Let’s pray for each other and our countrymen.
