I still cannot figure out a good reason for Hillary to have had a private server for state business unless it was to keep things hidden, or unless the state email was down all the time.

It is very clear to me she was ordered to by the Obama administration. I believe the entire White House administration had private emails, with many also having fictional names too.
She simply added her own server, so I strongly suspect POTUS of having one too. Who hosts the prouse@barackobama.com address for example?
