Within the Executive Branch, the Department of State is the lead U.S. foreign affairs agency, and the Secretary of State is the President’s principal foreign policy adviser.

Look’s though the onion is being peeled layer by layer and in addition to the smell of this produce, it will cause the tears of many. The motley crew were unsuccessful in dumbing down Americans. We were unafraid to attempt to find the truth and we will search until we do. How dumb to they really believe we are. We know that the administration is made of many who think alike. Congress needs to postpone the recess and start hearings on this immediately . . . that is, if they are not all smoke and mirrors.

That would endanger their candidate.
If you are implicated in a crime or impeached (indicted) the POTUS loses that power. All that it would take is for Congress to pass articles of impeachment.
