Was it a mistake for Donald Trumps opponents in the Republican primary not to have done oppo research on Trump and uncovered the stories about his personal behavior that have recently emerged?
On todays With All Due Respect, Mark Halperin posed the question to GOP consultant Susan Del Percio [who had earlier indicated she wasnt voting for Trump or Hillary]. Del Percio said that, indeed, it was political malpractice for Trumps primary opponents not to have done such digging on him. She surmised that the candidates didnt want to spend the money, and were worried that in retaliation Trump would have chop[ped] them off at the knees. Del Percio suggested that the smarter way to go would have been for an anti-Trump super PAC to have done the research.

Was it a mistake for Trump’s Republican primary opponents not to have dug for dirt on his personal life?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
How does one dig up dirt that is made up?
Hard to do oppo research when the Democrats just make it up
Just saying
How do we know that they didn't?
Total BS. Slick did worse and was a great POTUS according to the LSM.
She wanted them to make up sh!t like the liberals do?
Exactly
How does one do oppo research on made up claims?
Oh please. Every candidate who runs for major office has stuff.....and they usually vet themselves. Hopefully Trump did that to himself. It’s not his GOP opponents job any more than his own.
Come to think of it, they probably did and there was nothing there.
How funny. The big wigs were too cheap, proud, and afraid to “really” dig and go after Trump.
The MSM and the candidates themselves employed all the conventional tactics to take him down. And it would have worked against a GOPe candidate who made a small or unforced error. But they didn’t work against Trump because he did the one thing the GOPe never does: he fought back.
Responding to the comments by people refuting the claims against Trump:
I’m not saying that they’re all true. But I do tend to believe that when there’s enough smoke, there’s fire. Similar to Bill Cosby although the accusations against Trump are not as serious.
And the actions of which he’s been confused are precisely the kinds of things he told Billy Bush on the hot mic tape that he did.
Accused, not confused: getting late ;-)
Remember when Bill Clinton railed against ‘the politics of personal destruction’? Remember when he said that ‘a personal attack never fed a starving child’? Guess Hillary didn’t get the memo.
Yeah that’s it all 16 of them screwed up. /s. Total bs. Trump is a great candidate the malpractice is all about Hillary now.
Cosby was not just 3 weeks out from a big erection when SHTF.
He didn’t tell Billy Bush any such thing. He was being absolutely silly they were both being silly. Get your head on straight.
Why is Slick not in Haiti spreading the wealth around to fix the place up from its latest blow?
I watched the video yesterday of Danney Williams. He said there was times when he was starving. Guess Slick Willie wasn’t referring to him.
We must overcomb!!
