Hillary Clinton, Paul Ryan and the relationship that could shape Washington
Washington Post ^ | Oct. 12, 2016 | Robert Costa and Philip Rucker

It was October 1998, and Hillary Clinton’s midterm campaign swing for Democratic candidates brought the first lady on a Saturday afternoon to a middle-school gymnasium in Janesville, Wis. A 28-year-old conservative upstart from the town was running for Congress — and Clinton, rallying 1,200 people with a rip-roaring denunciation of Republicans, was trying to stop him. Clinton’s efforts failed, of course. Paul D. Ryan went on to win, and he has held his House seat in Wisconsin’s industrial southeastern corner for nearly two decades as he has risen to become the highest-ranking Republican in the country. Clinton and Ryan did not know each other then, and they barely have a personal rapport now. When they served together on Capitol Hill, they did not collaborate. They have crossed paths only a few times, in perfunctory meetings while she was secretary of state. Clinton, 68, and Ryan, 47, also have no apparent social ties — although they do share a book agent, Washington super-lawyer Robert Barnett.

Nonetheless, their relationship could become Washington’s most important in determining whether the federal government functions over the next four years, should Clinton win the presidency and Ryan retain his majority — as polls show is probable, although not certain, for both.

Does Ryan really want to sabotage Trump and get Hillary and all her goons back in the white house? You would think Ryan and every other republican would go all in to keep Hillary out even if it means they have to give the party to Trump.

This is one weird ass election and I’ve seen some doozies in my time.

Yes Ryan does want Clinton. He’s the biggest supporter of TPP & open borders. He’s married to a lib dem & I really have no idea why he registers republican.

"When they served together on Capitol Hill, they did not collaborate."

And yet, Lyin' Ryan needs Hillary to be President in order to continue to be the top "Republican" in national politics. Trump gets in his way.

People aren’t balking at voting for Trump because of anything Ryan’s done or not done. He has no effect on this race- he can’t make Trump look better or worse and the sooner folks figure that out the sooner they can focus on something that matters.

Ryan has been Obama’s “rubber stamp.” He will continue in that role under Clinton.

Why would RINOs want to do that? Trump would make them do things that the RATS and the MSM wouldn't like getting them called names and no longer invited to the elite dinner parties. You have to look at it from the spineless RINO viewpoint.

With Her Heinous in office, they can spend the first year taking direction from the White House to make certain they give the first woman President the cooperation she deserves—lest they be called bad names—which means a pretty easy year for them and plenty of accolades from the MSM. The second year they will rake in money from lobbyists on the way to the midterm elections as both sides get ready for the final realignment to permanent Democrat rule.

By then, it will have taken just about 40 years but they'd finally be back to being the well cared for minority of their salad days of the 70s only even better. No Trump. No Tea Party. No Conservatives. All the dreadful riff raff gone and never to return. Meanwhile, safe seats, three martini lunches, early tee times, and all the pork and hookers they could want. The complete RINO nirvana.
