Remembering a journalist who was killed for standing up to Putin (WaPo columnist: overthrow Putin)
Washington Post ^ | 10/6/2016 | Carl Gershman

Ten years ago Friday , Anna Politkovskaya, Russia’s most famous journalist, was murdered in Moscow. Her death serves as a window to Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin autocrat whom many Americans are looking at for the first time — his name now in U.S. election headlines as a result of alleged hacking of Democratic National Committee servers by Russian actors and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s praise of Putin’s strongman rule.

...

Politkovskaya understood that there was a connection between Putin’s sudden rise to power in 1999 by inflaming anti-Chechen passions and the horrible violence that followed. In her book “A Small Corner of Hell,” she wrote about “Westernizers” in Chechnya who looked toward Europe and with whom one could make peace. But Putin saw otherwise. He used the Chechen issue to seize and consolidate his power and then to extend it. Politkovskaya saw the danger, but she and other liberals in Russia were not strong enough to stop it.

The United States has the power to contain and defeat this danger. The issue is whether we can summon the will to do so. Remembering Politkovskaya can help us rise to this challenge.

WaPo neocon columnist calls for the US to depose Putin. Note the final paragraph. Just another facet of the Uniparty actively seeking WWIII with Russia.

Hillary means nuclear war, and the Russians will kick our ass.

This ain’t just a columnist. It’s the President of the National Endowment for Unlawful Covert Oligarch-Driven Activities in Other Nations - erm, I mean National Endowment for Democracy.

When the revolution comes this guy will be among the first up against the wall.

The article calls for us to OPPose Putin and his interventions, but nothing in the article says or implies that we must DEPose Putin.

Hillary is a globalist, modern progressive banker and neocon shill

Russia is the next target. They dried to divide Russian culture with the likes of Pussy Riot, homosexual agenda, etc... That has not worked, so they are trying political embarrassment and division instead.

I dunno. “Contain and defeat” is pretty strong language to use if all you mean is “denounce”. “Contain and defeat” is what the US is (ostensibly) doing to ISIS, and the connection becomes stronger when you take into account the background of the author.

If this keeps up we may want to consider painting our roofs with signs pointing to NYC and DC so the Russian planes know where to fly...

The author definitely means something more forceful than “denounce” but there are a range of options (such as steps to undermine Russian interventions in Syria) which do not amount to deposing Putin forcibly. I’m not agreeing with all of the article, just commenting on the “DEPose” issue.

Yep, the uniparty means to have war with Russia to distract “we the people” from the revealing of their horrific corruption.

“Hillary means nuclear war, and the Russians will kick our ass.”

With West Point military cadets giving the black power salute with impunity, and the government paying for soldiers’ sex change operations, you’re prolly right.
We just need to ride out the next three months without Obama, Hillary and their Republicrat neo-con stooges ginning up global thermonuclear war—which can ruin your whole day.

Trump wants what’s best for us, not what’s worse.
This isn’t rocket surgery, at least for most of us.

Watch “Dr. Strangelove” the elites have got the mineshaft gap covered. Just look at Bill Clinton’s island paradise for a small glimpse.

...which can ruin your whole day.

LOL...I just told my wife this morning that the libs/flower children used to run around in the Goldwater days squawking 'one nuclear war can ruin your whole day'.

No sh*t.
