How Trump’s detractors may have sabotaged their own October Surprise
hotair.com ^ | 10/9/16 | Jazz Shaw

Heading into tonight’s debates the theme for the evening has already been set by the media, along with everyone else who has been hoping that a giant sinkhole would open up and swallow Donald Trump like some sort of low rent Mothra in a budget Godzilla film. This narrative rests on the assumption that the video of Trump’s now infamous Bus Ride with Billy was the straw that broke the camel’s back and “everyone is fleeing the sinking ship.” Over at The Hill they’re keeping a running WHIP list of politicians who are pulling their support for the nominee. Less mentioned is the fact that these are mostly people who opposed Trump from the beginning and only came onboard when he began exceeding expectations in the polls.

So are these The End Days which everyone has been predicting? I wouldn’t be quite so hasty in nailing the coffin shut. Once the initial shock and awe has worn off you may find that those seeking to undermine Trump’s campaign have badly misplayed what could have been a winning hand. If the cable news authorities were going to quote any classic rock lyrics to script this moment it would be Jim Morrison singing about how This Is The End. But while the video was certainly a damaging broadside to the Trump campaign, the way this was handled was very possibly bungled. What could have really been the end of the line for The Donald may have been fumbled to the point where he has a path to recovery. There are three factors which may support this idea that I’d like to cover.

Once Trump gets elected, all these weak-kneed, spineless Quislings will be searching for rocks to hide under.
GO TRUMP

Just like Julius Caesar on the Ides Of March.

Trump is still standing, to the amazement of his enemies.

And he has all the right ones - none of them worthy of respect.

Trump should say tonight: “I am not a perfect man, I have said many things that I regret and I apologize to the American people for this distraction. Our nation is in serious peril. I want to make America great again and there are serious issues that need to be discussed.

I am sure that the Clinton campaign will bring up more clips of my using salty language. They would rather attack me on a personal front than address these serious issues. More importantly the Clinton campaign want to deflect Hillary Clinton’s own lapses in judgment. At lease I offer apologies for my past behavior. We are all still waiting for her apologies for denigrating the many women that brought charges of rape against her husband. Shouldn’t those women be heard?

Mrs. Clinton has to atone for breaking the law and destabilized North Africa, creating a refugee crisis and a catastrophe in Libya and Syria and the deaths of four brave Americans carrying out her nefarious gun running shenagans. She even lied to the parents of those killed blaming their deaths on a film.

She owes an apology to the people of Haiti who are still waiting for the money held by the Clinton Foundation.”

Or words to that effect.

The premise that this was potentially a death-blow to the Trump campaign is false. It is based upon two beliefs that are profoundly at variance with the facts:

1. That the broke-d!ck [it is time we stopped descriping the moral failings of our male politicians in ways that are insulting to women] two-faced sell-out GOPeers are in control of anything much. The voters are running this show.

2. That some salty language and male braggadocio would be offensive to anyone much anymore. BJ Clinton already drove a tank over that bar if not every violent sex laden movie on HBO/Showtime/NETFLIX [Game of Thrones, anyone].

Two-faced sanctimonious GOP pricks use far worse language to describe us in private.

They don’t live up to their own high-falutin’ standards.

Who gave them the right to judge Trump?

Just like Julius Caesar on the Ides Of March.

And Caesar only had one Brutus wielding a knife - we have a lot of traitors doing their best to teach the People a lesson for going with the best choice available. Hopefully the People have the smarts to teach them the lesson instead.

I just hope we don’t get the set up questions from the fake outrage and indignation...let him answer about it once, then let’s move on to the issues, please?

I agree. Back in 1992 I thought the revelations of Clinton and his numerous affairs would be his death knell as a candidate. Only because just a scant 4 years earlier it doomed Gary Hart.

Fast forward now 24 years,we, as a nation, are no longer really shocked by much. Vulgar words, once thought so foul they were never used in polite conversation, now is a every day thing, and the talk, descriptions and fantasies about SEX of every dimension is every day run of the mill.

Yet we have the almighty MSM shocked, and I mean shocked this kind of talk took place, and this was 11 years ago. Even Hillary Clinton, a pathological lying hypocrite, if there was ever one, said she was just shocked. Here she is a aging Lesbian using Huma to find her new lovers, an alcoholic, and a woman with serious health problems saying she was “SHOCKED”. I wonder if there is gambling at her favorite Lesbian Bar???????????

The idea of the October suprise was formed before cable news and the Internet. It would have worked better as a November surprise. This story does not have the legs to carry it’s weight for four weeks.

Excellent
And he needs to take total control of the interview and steer it to places where she hasn’t been pre scripted
Mess up their game

I disagree with the premise of the article that they mistimed this. The real problem is that they mis-overestimated the public perception and grossly mis-underestimated the reaction [profound anger by the voting public for this not-very-cute stunt]. Surely the guys and gals who use salty language in the office know that guys and gals use salty language.

Besides as the Left says, sex is a private matter.

Trump’s vulgarity is a matter that should be between him and his wife.

I’m not his judge nor his family and what happened isn’t any of my business.

Its time to move on.

I wouldn’t apologize....it a sign of weakness and only opens the door to more attacks.

He should say, I am a man, and any man who says he doesn’t talk like that with other men in the absence of women is a liar.

I think that bar was amply vaulted many decades ago by the late, unlamented Lyndon Baines Johnson, the depths of whose vulgarity and malfeasance are essentially unknown to most Americans. In addition to his "salty language and male braggadocio," he exposed his genitalia to boast/intimidate, used defecation to humiliate, had unearned medals for valor awarded to him, etc, etc. But hey… at least he didn't say something unforgiveable like "I'll have those ni**ers voting Democrat for the next 100 years!"

Oh, wait- he DID say that!

Well, at least he didn't chase a recently widowed woman and make suggestive comments to her while she was still in mourning.

Ow, wait! He did that too.

Well, at least he kept us out of Vietn…

People don’t care.

Trump described a sexual fantasy to a friend in private circumstances.

What was on the tape was never meant for the world to know.

That’s why I judge Trump leniently because being foul-mouthed in private is quite different from being a jerk in public.

That is an extenuating circumstance. Let’s get it off it!

We’ve got a country to save.

Not to mention how many of them stood by grinning like fools while joe Biden openly groped their wives and daughters!
Haven’t hear from Mitch, have we? His poor little girl should have had counseling after Groper Joe massaged her neck and chest during daddy’s 2014 swearing in photos. Her poor little face....
