However...any events at this very point in time would actually be a distraction with reporters shoving microphones in people’s faces asking them to defend Trump’s remarks, how can you still support him, etc.
He did not say No to event, just that he would leave defending Trump’s remarks to Trump who has already apologized. I don’t see a problem here.
Thanks for the link with Pence’s statement. I am weary of wobbly Republicans and glad he is standing with Trump.
