"The committee spokeswoman is asked whether awarding the prize to a president who negotiated a peace deal which was then rejected by the people of Colombia was disrespectful to Colombian democracy."
"She says no, she thinks the Colombians rejected the specifics of the peace deal, not peace itself and is hopeful that this award will encourage leaders of the country to continue to strive for peace and not let tensions reemerge."

Considering other recipients of the same award are Yassir Arafat and Obama .... kinda cheapens the meaning of the award.

It is a curious way to end a war. Invite the enemy into the gummint.

True, there have been some awful choices in the past.... though this one seems like a pretty good choice. Don’t know if the Colombian peace deal will get re-worked successfully to satisfy the Colombian public, but I never thought they would get this far.

Good choice—being the cynic that I am I thought they would give it to Hillary using the logic that “She hasn’t caused World War III yet!”

Government is based on force and fraud.
The proposed Colombian peace agreement was a candid recognition of that fact.

They might have given it to Shrillary just to try to boost here toward “first US woman president” — glad they passed over that opportunity!

I’m surprised they didn’t give it to Madame Benghazi for helping ISIS to get going, and for killing Gadaffi (hahahaha).

Dammit, they are doing everything they can to get him to surrender Colombia to FARC socialists.
They will turn Colombia to worse than Venezuela in short order.

They might have given it to Shrillary just to try to boost here toward first US woman president glad they passed over that opportunity! I was worried that they would. I wonder if the leaked "Can we just drone him?" made them change their vote at the last minute? She would have been an embarrassing selection.

Perhaps it would wake people up to the danger if another country goes socialist...?
Nah, probably not.

That’s a relief. I was expecting them to pick Hillary.
To: Enchante
What? They didn’t give it to Hillary? Oh that’s right, she has to get elected first.
To: Enchante
I’m shocked!
I thought for sure that Nicolás Maduro or Barack Hussein Obama was gonna get it.
