The media are stupid but they aren’t incompetent. They know good and well that Hillary will not be answering an unrehearsed question.
They knew this was a planned exchange and they did their part - as I said above they are competent and can run with Clinton plans whether or not they were included in the preparation. If they do well enough they may be included in the planning next time, not just the cheer leading after it happens. If they fail they will be out of work.
HRC: As always stage managed, unreal, rehearsed - and as usual an issue that is unimportant or at least not a political issue
Mike Pence: real, unrehearsed, humane - and an issue that is not only important but something that can be handled in Washington DC.
