Politico founder and former CEO Jim VandeHei blasted political reporters for what he said was an excessive bias against Republican nominee Donald Trump.
On MSNBC's "Morning Joe," VandeHei, a former Washington Post reporter, said the proof that reporters are generally against Trump is seen most clearly on Twitter.
"I think reporters have become so biased, so partisan, particularly on Twitter," he said Tuesday morning. "Go look at the Twitter feeds of the reporters from your major newspapers the New York Times, the Washington Post, others and tell me if those are things that they would say on TV or things that would ever have been acceptable in previous campaigns. And that doesn't mean that Trump doesn't say plenty that you should get all worked up about but just let the facts be out there and let people make a judgement "
Show host Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman, agreed that he often sees the Twitter accounts of reporters he knows work for the New York Times and sees them doing an "end zone dance" in commentary about the latest controversy surrounding Trump.
"Somewhere along the line in this presidential race," said Willie Geist, an anchor for NBC's "Today" show, "the decision was made by many members of the media that Trump had to be stopped, that this couldn't happen, that this year was different, that it was incumbent upon people to stop 'a bigot,' and all those things that he's been called and maybe is that this time was different. And so when you go on and you see reporters tweeting out things, you go, 'Oh my gosh, you're the guy who's going to write the lead news story above the fold in a major newspaper."

Yes, it is interesting — given that Politico staff is the worst of the partisans.
He’s right. Look at Mark Murray’s Twitter.
The last couple of years I just listen to the bible on my 90 minute morning commute, but today I had a different car (no thumb drive) and listened to NPR. They had all negatives about Trump and all positives about Hillary. It was comical. Literally. I was laughing.
Thanks BFAC
There are two rationales for the bias:
1. The mainstream media is always biased AGAINST Republicans.
2. The media is always biased IN FAVOR of the establishment and the elitists, regardless of political party. They love rubbing shoulders with those folks at wine and brie gatherings because it makes them feel that they are in with the in crowd. With an outsider like Trump, they are deathly afraid of being marginalized.
Number 2. is what is making it doubly vicious this election cycle.
There was an article about the media being so bias against Trump that it could backfire on them. I sure hope that is the case. It is quite obvious to anyone paying any attention.
Welcome:)
Even when criticizing the media for being biased, he adds his own bias.
They can't stop themselves.
If more people would simply pay attention and get their news from unbiased internet sources, Trump would win in a landslide. Unfortunately, there are way too many voters being led around with rings in their noses doing what the left wing media tells them to do.
I’ve heard so many people repeat what a few reporters said the previous day. They’re brain dead.
Rush said today that Trump was highly praised in the 1990’s for his business acumen by businessmen and journalists.
Trump should make a campaign ad quoting the journalists of the day with their laudatory comments which would be highly embarrassing to them today.
For example, Jesse Jackson in 1999 praised Trump saying,
“We need your building skills, your gusto, your rent package for people on Wall Street to represent diversity,
Trump had given Jackson free office space on Wall Street.
Would be a great way to hit the media back on their biases and hypocrisy.
bkmk

This is absolutely 100% spot on. No question whatsoever. They gravitate left, however, because the left are the ones who use politics as a pathway to ‘change the world’ and control other people’s lives - making themselves oh so special.
Trump had given Jackson free office space on Wall Street.

I’ve noticed something odd this election. Has anyone heard from “Reverend” Jackson?
Yes, the left have “anointed” themselves as the special people. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”...Obama
Thomas Sowell wrote a great book about that - The Vision of the Anointed.
The media are scared to death of being marginalized by someone like Trump who has nothing but scorn for them.
I don’t get it.
The media says that the Trump campaign is in a “death spiral”, particularly after “his bad week” last week.
Meanwhile, Hillary holds meetings for campaign volunteers in which no one shows up, and her “rallies” are pathetic affairs in which she is lucky to get 200 people (including bused-in high school students). In contrast, Trump rallies—such as the recent ones in Colorado—can draw 10,000 people!!!!
What should I believe? A Trump “death spiral” or a Hillary campaign dying became of lack of interest? A Hillary waltz to the White House, or a Trump mega-landslide powered by stealth Trump supporters like me?
that it was incumbent upon people to stop ‘a bigot,’ and all those things that he’s been called and maybe is-
Even when criticizing the media for being biased, he adds his own bias.
They can’t stop themselves.
The thing that makes me laugh is that as long as Mr. Trump was donating to the various campaigns... well then he was just the most amazing fellow to be around and go to cocktail parties that he went to or put on himself.
But now that he is running for the Presidency... He is the most (***** you fill in with whatever you want).
I think the deal here is that the bias is so noticeable and that it is backfiring. The law of diminishing returns applies here. It probably helps them better if the bias is more nuanced and subtle.
