In a statement to Breitbart News, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin responded to President Obamas comments in a recent interview with New York Magazines Jonathan Chait that he sees a straight line starting from Palins vice presidential nomination in 2008 to the rise of the Tea Party movement and ultimately to the candidacy of Donald Trump.

"Sarah Palin: Obamas Right; "the Trump Movement Began in 2008"When "the Silenced Majority" "Found Their Voice"
Breitbart's take.
I remember when she was the first one to call Obama just a community organizer. PC be damned. Oh yes....She actually started the movement.
The angst about GHWB and his turning away from Reaganism was their and Pat might have been it's only voice.
We always knew that Obama was smarter than his pedantic measured minimalistic speeches where every word is a strain for him to get out and it always has a hidden meaning, especially when the subject is faith and or Israel.
Here he takes off the mask and notes how he understands us and that we are a movement, it was a rare moment of candor for sure....
Sarah Palin’s speech at the GOP Convention on Sept. 3, 2008 proved quite prescient. She encapsulated the conservative view of America like so few in the GOP ever have since Reagan.
And it showed we nominated the wrong person to take on Obama that year.
I had the privilege of hearing Sarah Palin speak in Nashville, TN that year. She was outstanding.
If it weren’t for Saturday night live’s spoof of her, she would have made a great and effective candidate for VP. As it was the media tore her apart.
Community agitator is more accurate.
“Unassimilated malcontent” works for me...
The media destroyed one of the best things to come along in a long time on the political scene.
The media is now trying to destroy Trump.
The libs have been in charge of the media for over 60 years, and I am tired of their anti-American agenda.
As it was the media tore her apart.
Isn’t that part of the media/dem War On Women?
The establishment hate Trump for the same reason they hate Palin: They are “one of us”.
I am tired of the media’s anti-American efforts also. The NEW media gives us a chance to unseat the OLD media’s influence - and I am happy to say Free Republic is part of the new media’s influence.
Well, the media has a war on anybody conservative - woman or not. It proves that their supposed feminist agenda is just a sham, a front for a true hatred of women, you are right.....just as Hillary’s supposed support for women’s rights just happens to ignore the abuse of women at the hands of her “husband” or at the hands of the Saudi’s and other Islamic societies who have peddled their influence over he Clintons.
I like Sarah but I would say the “nucleus” of all this was Jim Rob’s FreeRepublic in 1998.
I think Hillary saw Palin as a possible first female president and moved to systematically destroy her in the media. I also think that Hillary was helped in this endeavors buy both Romney and bush who saw her as a rival.
That rings very true.
She was a threat to both sides of the aisle--great point.

That's because, Barry, you've been fanning the flames for 8 years.
Unfortunately the country went straight down the crapper as the GOPe ran misdirection plays for six years.
It's funny how all these people only GET to public notice and official stats at the expense of the very American taxpayers they have been vilifying all their BS lives.
YOUR kid never had the kind of financial, educational, employment, lending advantages as any of these losers... but we are supposed to go on forking over $$$$$$$$$$$$ and deferring to their victimhhood status F O R E V E R !!!!!!!!!!
What a crappy life if all you've ever done is whine and stand around with your hand out!! I still remember the TREMENDOUS sense of fulfillment and exhilaration when I finally was able to support myself on my own and was in no way dependent on my parents!!
