Kind of like their campaign claiming that Pope Pius XII (who saved at least 500,000 Jews in WWII by defying and out-smarting Hitler and Mussolini) was collaborating with Hitler. The Left ate up the KGB fairy-tale--first of all, because they were told to. And also because they hate the Church for and trying to take away their pornography and undermining the Soviet Union.

I too did some fact checking back when this was first being said as quickly as he died, and found your statement above to be true. The left was doing their best to discredit the FBI as they are doing now to discredit police everywhere.
Hoover was a standup guy with a passion for good law enforcement - a workaholic. He also loved horse racing, as do I.
