This may be a stupid story, however, I have a close friend that had a very similar ploy tried on him and his wife. The story is different in that their granddaughter was being arrested for drug smuggling and she needed $4,000 right away. It only ended after they were able to contact the girls parents and they knew where she was, end of story.
OK...not a huge surprise.Particularly since he's European.But as a European he can't hurt me like an American showbiz punk can.And Schindler is very probably the finest English language film ever made.
Some punk tried the same on my parents who are in there eighties. The punk claimed to be their grandson. My mother answered the phone. The punk tried his scam. My mother asked “which grandson?” The punk answered “Guess!” So she tries to keep him on the phone while my father is on the cell phone with one of his Texas DPS contacts. Unfortunately the punk was using caller ID spoofing. But these punks try this nonsense on the elderly assuming they are naive and vulnerable.
Happened to a daughter of my friend, she got a call that they were holding her father and would kill him if she didn’t wire money to them.
They’re a POS. I have they get asses kicked.
