Turkish authorities have detained a brother of Fethullah Gülen, a U.S.-based cleric they accuse of orchestrating a coup attempt in July, and issued arrest warrants for 115 other people as part of nationwide investigations into the abortive putsch.
Kudbettin Gülen was taken into custody on Sunday by Turkish counter-terrorism police in the Gaziemir district of the Aegean province of Izmir following intelligence that he was staying at a relative’s house, state-run Anadolu Agency said. […]

Turkey is well on its way toward becoming an Islamic State. The Turkish government (supported by the great bulk of the non-Kurdish Turkish populace) is NOT our friend.
100,000 civil servants sacked, 50,000 people detained and thousands of organizations, schools and media outlets shut down by decree or arrest of their workers. Erdogan’s purge is so big that he has to build extra prisons to accommodate all the extra political prisoners.

I say it’s been an Islamic state for a while, and Atatürk’s secular republic is long gone. They’ve got a Hamas base there, who were involved in sending the terrorist-filled Mavi Marmara to Gaza six years ago.
