Every tax season, some tax watchdog comes out with a list of tens of dozens of corporations paying Zero taxes.
Hey, takes $$money$$ to shelter money.
And for the same reason. GE wrote down a substantial part of their business and took a huge loss.
Progressives made all kinds of noise because GE was "paying no taxes on record profits". It played well in their echo chamber, but was lost on people that actually knew the tax laws and GE's situation.
Unfortunately, the latter group was very small.
Businesses have never and never will pay taxes. Any amounts given to any government in one year is re-couped the next year by increases in the costs for products and services they provide.
It is always the common customer that pays every dollar.
