Especially if they have younger siblings.

Makes sense if they plan to pitch in the American League when they grow up.

In Amerigo Vespucci's description of South America, he is surprised that the native tribes fight wars against each other, despite not having a notion of private property.

When Lewis and Clark were sent to explore the territory west of the Mississippi River, they were told to encourage the Indians to keep peace with each other. One of the Indian chiefs, when told that, was incredulous. "How will we know whom to pick for our chiefs, if we don't fight wars?"
