FLASHBACK: Gannett (USA TODAY) and Journal Media Group Receive Clearance from Department of Justice

McLEAN, VA & MILWAUKEE, WI – Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) (“Gannett”) and Journal Media Group, Inc. (NYSE: JMG) (“JMG”) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice has closed its investigation of Gannett’s proposed acquisition of JMG, and that early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, has been granted. Gannett and JMG expect to complete the transaction after the close of regular trading on the New York Stock Exchange on April 8, 2016, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

After the Obama-Loretta Lynch investigation of USA Today ended (and approved of merger), Gannett breaks tradition and endorses Hillary. And forces their two "conservative" newspapers to make history and endorse Hillary.

Donna E. Shalala is president of the Clinton Foundation. She previously served as president of the University of Miami, as secretary of Health and Human Services, and as a member of the board of directors of Gannett, which owns USA TODAY.

Gannett appears to be putting pressure on all its newspapers to endorse Hillary. Note they own The Arizona Republic and USA Today...

Gannett owns over 100 “newspapers” in the U.S. I don’t subscribe to our local News-Leader rag...it really went full left-wing tilt when William Jefferson Blythe Clinton was occupying the White House.
