Washington (CNN) — The Arizona Republic, the state's largest newspaper, has never endorsed a Democrat for president -- until now.

In an op-ed published to its website Tuesday, the editorial board backed Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump for president.

"The 2016 Republican candidate is not conservative and he is not qualified," the editorial board wrote.

"is not conservative and he is not qualified..."

Yet, Bill's wife does not fall into either category either.

I just love how this story fails to mention that they’re hemorrhaging subscribers and that they’re putting people on hold for very long wait times in the hope that subscribers will hang up and not unsubscribe...

Have you heard that this caused mass cancellations? That would be my hope.

I doubt he will get any newspaper endorsements, however this election will be a referendum on the media....and the media will lose!

Arizona will still vote for Trump, especially in Maricopa County

USA Today also wants to keep the Titanic going full speed ahead and endorsed (a first) Hillary.
They’re getting a sweet deck chair on the Fiesta Deck.

I subscribe to this paper and not a day goes by where Trump is not being attacked by someone on the editorial pages. This paper is a far left paper, that picked Romney and McCain so as to not piss most of us off.

This was no surprise.

Has anyone purchased the USA Today or read it outside a hotel lobby in the last 15-to-20 years?

IIRC, Obama in 2008 was the first time the Chicago Tribune endorsed a Dem for president.

Yes, there have been many stories about it since the endorsement happened. Today there were stories about putting callers on hold for extended periods, in the hopes that they’d simply hang up and thus not cancel. People posted photos of their on hold times and it was all over Twitter as well.

"This year is different," the editorial says. "The 2016 Republican candidate is not conservative and he is not qualified. That’s why, for the first time in our history, The Arizona Republic will support a Democrat for president."

LOL! Do they not realize the idiocy of this statement?

I looked because I had a suspicion, and it turned out to be correct. This paper as well as the Cincinnati Enquirer are both owned by Gannett which owns the USA Today (which also just endorsed Trump).

Well .. I keep having suspicions that some of these people who are claiming they are voting for Hillary are doing it for two reasons: First, they don’t want to admit they’re voting for Trump; 2nd, they may have donated money to the Clinton Foundation, and now feel obligated.
