Summer break - janitorial in local schools- was my experience that ladies room was significantly dirtier, both hygiene and graffiti wise, middle to upper class grad junior high schools
And no legislation was needed to make it so.
So this legislation affects all the other restrooms.

Here’s the big freaking deal. I run an ag service company in the farming back water of Castroville, California. I don’t have a whole lot of transgendered farmers for customers. It’s not the gd government business what is on my bathroom’s doors. Take the freakinng ring out of your nose and become an independent freeman. The ladies in my office are showing testostrianal attitude and are saying the hell with this. The men and women signs are remaining.

Yep. Men piss on the floor and on the seat and back of the commode. Ladies used to letting their dresses rest on the floor in a clean women’s bathroom are in for a rude surprise.
The pearl clutchers will do their usual song and dance, but you are correct. This isn’t a big deal. Of course it’s stupid to pass a law regarding it, but it’s California after all.
Do you guys still have that sign over all doors, “This door shall remain unlocked during business hours.”?

As you point out in #1, if someone from city hall showed up at one of our local businesses and said, “Put this up.” I’m pretty sure the answer would be, “I won’t do that but will lock my door when I see you coming.”

Not sure but it damn sure will have a waiting line. Men won’t stand in line to take a leak. They be rivers running through foul smelling parking lots.
Something I learned as a young lad (1976) working in a restaurant (and having to clean both M and F bathrooms)...
The men’s room had a tiny sink and a stool, with a ratty vinyl floor. The Ladies’ room had a COUCH!
Just like the One Holler grandma and grandpa had.
Women’s’ bathrooms may be cleaner, but we take lots longer. Men are not going to enjoy the long lines that women just expect.
It’s kinda stupid for a line to form waiting for a bathroom when the one next to it is empty. Many places have changed to bathroom instead of separate men and women’s room. Actually makes sense.
These are single bathrooms. There’s no sharing. Did you not read the article? Heck even the title shows this. How you got sexes sharing a bathroom is amazing.
