Trump Rallies Supporters in Waukesha (WI)

WAUKESHA, WI (WBAY) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump makes his third trip to Wisconsin in a little over a month, rallying supporters in Waukesha County Wednesday night.

During a 40 minute speech, Trump blasted his democratic rival Hillary Clinton on a number of issues, focusing on her ties to Wall Street, special interest groups and big money donors.

“These special interests totally control Hillary Clinton, she’s their chosen representative. You can disregard anything she says, and just remember that phrase, follow the money. She’s there for only one reason, to protect her donors and collect money,” Trump said.

He also pledged to support police by being the law and order candidate. Trump said unlike Clinton, he would enforce existing immigration laws and renegotiate trade deals that haven’t favored american workers.

“She’s a globalist who’s made a career of taking jobs from our country, and giving them to other countries,” he said. “I am not running to be President of the world, I’m running to be President of the United States.”

Trump faces a tight race in Wisconsin. The most recent Marquette Law School poll shows Democrat Hillary Clinton with a three point lead over Trump among likely voters.

Trump needs to do well in the Milwaukee suburbs, which are considered Republican strongholds, but political observers say so far he’s struggled to connect with those voters.

“The Republican voters in southeast Wisconsin typically are not in manufacturing jobs, they’re in white collar jobs. They’re the managers, they work at insurance companies, they’re not on the assembly line, so their jobs are less sensitive to being shipped overseas as someone in northwest or northeast Wisconsin,” Arnold Shober of Lawrence University’s Political Science Department said.

“He did poorly down there, against Ted Cruz in the presidential primary. That’s the home of Charlie Sykes, WTMJ, right? All the folks who don’t like Trump are down in that part of the state. He needs to get them to turn out to vote, especially if the race in Wisconsin remains a two to three point race, which Marquette poll suggests that it is.”

Local law enforcement says the Waukesha County Expo Center was at capacity during the rally and some supporters had to be turned away.

Outside the expo center, a small group of protesters waved signs, including some military veterans.

“We need people to wake up and understand that Donald Trump is not qualified to be the Commander in Chief. I would be terrified if he was in charge of our armed forces,” organizer Bernie Gonzales said.

Voces de la Frontera, a Latino organizatoin, also joined the protest, saying Trump is against minorities.

1,500 seats, THOUSANDS were turned away, which is too bad. 'Small' group of protestors, so probably no more than a handful. No arrests.

Be careful what you wish for. Cruz is a douche and there’s no telling what he would do after his “agonizing” support for Trump.

I think it might drag some of the Cruzbots in WI over the line.

But, you’re right. I don’t have much respect for Soreloserman, anymore.

He has got to get to Sheboygan Co and Green Bay to cover the Fox Valley. There is an arena there in Green Bay-used to be called the Brown Co arena and I dont know what its called now, but that place is pretty big.
He should also take a trip up to Marquette Mich to the dome there-I think that holds over 10,000 people. I believe that when GW Bush was there he had over 10 thousand at that event.
Wausau or Stevens Point.
