I understand your pain. We have given up on all correct usage of the English language. These days, people use the word “literally” when they really mean “figuratively.” I lost all hope in our educational system when I heard, in the last year or two, a teacher in California say, “My head literally exploded!”
We gave up on King James English a long time ago. Things change as do languages.
