Cruz was hated by the GOP establishment primarily because of his standing up to them. Beck, although admittedly kooky at times, has done more (via his FoxNews show) to expose the commie left and their various fronts and associates in the demonRat party than just about anyone on Earth. A lot of his kookiness is done with the purpose of being entertaining--to keep folks with short attention spans interested long enough to listen and learn something. And there are a LOT of such folks out there, who would never in a million years sit there watching as he went into great detail on the workings of the commie left.
In fact, it has always been to their advantage that their activities are too complex and involved for most people to even begin to want to follow and understand. Beck, with his graphs, diagrams, videos, and classroom-like approach, made it all much more accessible.
