Speaking to a friend who is a probation officer in southern Colorado he says heroin has taken over the towns along with something called tar. I guess marijuana isn’t good enough?
Black Tar is heroin as well, just usually cheaper than the fully refined white. AKA, mud, brown sugar, black tar, black pearl and as you mentioned tar. Big issue in Denver with the street people.

“Tar” is just another word for heroin, from “black tar heroin”.

Much of the heroin is coming out of the Army at Ft Carson. The wife has seen a massive increase in overdoses and abuses.
