Mr Trumps statement:

Basically, they will, if they see you know, they’re proactive and if they see a person possibly with a gun or they think may have a gun, they will see the person, and they’ll look and they’ll take that gun away.

DEFINITELY crosses the line and any police officer using that as his reason for stop and frisk would be conducting an ILLEGAL stop.

I've caught enough crap from LEOs when I have legally possessed/carried firearms in the past, either personally or within my vehicle, and I've had a few outside of my home state that were not thrilled about me being a CCL holder, when they saw that I had a CCL.

I had an experience several years ago that started with an illegal stop and resulted in weapons being pulled - which is why I'm well versed on this subject. Ultimately two officers were disciplined. We either protect our rights or they WILL take them from us.

Glad to have your support! We need to speak up for freedom every chance we get. Especially in front of young men and women - most of them were never taught the founding principles of our country. Let them know that we’re free men and this is our country (and their country) and nobody’s going to take it away from us. Hang together or hang separately.

I found the video. Actually, Trump's campaign was kind enough to upload it.

He starts discussing it around the 4-minute mark, but starts to discuss the police seeing and taking guns after 5 minutes.

If I hear Obama or Hillary use those same words, it would throw a huge warning flag up, and so I cannot ignore that Trump is using this kind of talk.

Regardless of the letter next to their name, I do not want to see any Presidential nominee talking about cops arbitrarily taking guns. We saw that happen in Louisiana after a certain hurricane. I don't care if he tried to backtrack and claim it was only about Chicago, even though he was in Cleveland when he said this (a city in a different state than Chicago, Illinois) and even though the person asking him for solutions did not identify himself to be from Chicago.

How would you feel if somebody came into your community and said that you had to be home by a certain time every night, and that the cops have the right to stop you and frisk you at any time, and as Trump said yesterday morning, if they see you with a gun, they should be able to take it, or decide whether you are allowed to have a gun?

How would you feel? There would be no resentment on your part? You would automatically put your hands on the wall or car and spread your legs and give up your firearms?

Here's a better idea than cowering before the government - how about people in Chicago replace the government and police leadership there, because clearly, the Democrats and the cop leadership is doing those people no good. It'll never happen of course, the Democrats do a very good job of holding on to power there.
