Me too. I’m surprised that it has taken them so long to get to Spanish—since it is a language of the ‘oppressed’ and therefore should be untouchable.
When I was a student teacher, a black muslim was invited by my master teacher to speak to my class (which was 100% black and hispanic). He said that the kids should use Arabic and Spanish, instead of the ‘slave language’ English. When I threw some Arabic back at him, the kids all started laughing and said, “the white devil speaks your language”. The fact that Arabic was the first language of the slave traders was not part of his talk.
