The problem with seed sustainability is the instability with today’s hybrid seeds.

Even with alfalfa there are few non hybrids available. Plus, most U.S. seed production is abroad.

I keep a supply of diverse seeds and know the network of seed savers. It’s not about survival but sustained living.

I hate to say it, but we are in trouble no matter who wins the upcoming election. I am absolutely amazed that by printing and spending money, along with cheap imports, manipulation of the cost of living index, and the Fed playing the stock markets and keeping interest rates very low.... our economy did not grow. We have pulled all the tricks out of the bag to prolong the inevitable.. The question is how fast and furious or gentle will be the let down. I pray for a soft landing.

One of the biggest reasons there are so few non-hybrid seeds anymore is that there were too many farmers who wanted more than just a poverty level standard of living.
