Why is this an article and public knowledge? Why can’t it be a secret?

The important parts of the equipment are not its existence, it is the technical details. Speed, size, carrying capacity, communications capabilities (details, not generalities), aramament, etc..

At some point, members of the public will see this stuff being exercised or tested. Control what is released, and feed the media the sexy stuff, while keeping the important details classified.

It seems there are no secrets from our enemies...everything is hackable, apparently. The only secrets are those kept from the American Citizens.
