The nation's largest police union on Friday endorsed Donald Trump for president, lauding his commitment to police officers.

The Fraternal Order of Police gave the GOP presidential nominee its endorsement after he received support from more than two-thirds of the group's national board. "[Trump] has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again," said Chuck Canterbury, the FOP's national president.

"He's made a real commitment to America's law enforcement and we're proud to make a commitment to him and his campaign by endorsing his candidacy today."

This is great but it would be wise to check and see how much money and to who their union donated money. It has been my experience that union officials almost 100% donate to democrats.

Which goes to show the union officials do not necessarily represent the same goals as the rank and file.

Great news for Trump. Now he needs the NY Unions to endorse him. That will be the straw that breaks Hillary’s back.

“Which goes to show the union officials do not necessarily represent the same goals as the rank and file.”

But it’s the rank and file who vote, and there are lots of them.

Awesome endorsement from this big basket of honorables! They didn’t endorse Romney or Obama last time around.

Put the police union into the basket of deplorables!! Along with the Navy seals and all the generals that endorsed him this morning. That basket is getting very large...

They supported Clinton over Dole in 96’. Labor issues. Playing both sides. Ph—k them.
