He alone identified the communications problems and set out immediately to rectify antiquated computer/networks, telephone switches, radio and satellite and made both Information Management and Diplomatic Security increases in manpower at the expense of traditional cones for political, economic, counselor, admin management and public affairs.
After his liberal leanings for abortion sunk his chances for higher office within the RNC, he felt betrayed and has ever since be a liberal's wet dream.

I came into the State Department IT from Department of Amry Civil Service IT and supported Powell once in Jersualem, President Bush once in J-rue; Condi Rice three times in J-rue and handled with one other IMS the Rio de Janeiro Consulate support for the Obama visit in 2010. It is only since the ascension of Obama that Powell's personal stock dropped with me; however, professionally I am proud to have worked under him and his initiatives at State.

I can’t remember the details without Googling, but Christopher Hitchens wrote about some skullduggery of Powell’s having to do with trying to cover up the My Lai massacre in Vietnam.
He is often confused. He should have shut his mouth years ago. So glad he did not choose to run for President. He isn’t sure of what he believes half the time. But, he is correct about Bill with the bimbos and some of Hillary’s issues.

Next set of polls will be trial balloons. If Biden was the nominee, if Warren was the nominee. If sanders was the nominee. They will then take those polls, slide them into whatever flawed algorithm they have, PR the crap out of it and select Hillary’s replacement based on the new candidate beating Trump.
And no one will ever ask, “If Biden beats Trump by so much, why did we select Hillary in the first place?”
powell is a useless sack. Anything he may have accomplished was an accident for this affirmative-action freak.
