What, after 16+ years of stagnant and declining wages? What BS.
This reeks like a 3 day old homicide scene.
downsized by 90 million+;
Whatever happened to “building the economy from the middle out”?
8 years of regression and stagnation...
Doing so would mean comparing a new standard to an old producing the desired result.
Just in time for the Presidential election.
If that is the case, there are either more workers per household, or it is investment income.
Thanks for this. Excellent analysis.
Major league lie.
I grew up that way. We lived with my Grandparents after I was born. My folks were married for 4 years already; I wasn’t the reason we lived like that, we just wanted a better life. Mom worked full time as a Secretary. Dad was in his Apprenticeships full time earning 25 cents an hour. (Electrician, Plumber, Sheetmetal Fabricator, Welder; he had it all goin’ on!) Grandma and Grandpa (her parents) took care of me during the day, which was usually spent in a bar until I started Kindergarten. We ate a LOT of Free Government Cheese back then. ;)
I grew up in Milwaukee. 100% normal childhood. Every kid on the block was pretty much raised that way before they threw us all in Parochial School. Mom & Dad couldn’t afford to ‘move on up’ until I was 5 years old, and Baby Sister came along. Then, we bought our own house.
Let’s give credit where it is due; 0bama is JUST re-creating Generational Living so we’ll all take care of one another and all stay dependent upon Government in one way or another! (SARCASM)
My three boys never had to come back home to live after college. They all attended various Trade Schools and were out-earning their Dad & me right out of the shoot!
It’s a whole ‘nother world now, isn’t it?
From the NY Times analysis: “The largest source of those gains is probably increased employment rather than pay raises.”
In other words, more workers per household. That would do it.
They’re quoting the census bureau for economic data??
So the median household income in 2015 rose to $56,500. So what?
What they failed to tell you is that in 2007 the household median income was $57,357 and in 1999 was $57,843.
So since 1999 household average income has declined 2.3% or one fifth of one per center per year. In other words, household income is FLAT and STAGNANT.

What bullshite.
The typical democrat lives in a world of self delusion.
Trump Effect. Anticipation for the future.
