Bin Laden probably had little operational control over Al Qaeda for several years prior, due to his hiding, so intelligence gain might be limited. More important, you do not want a martyr, a point of focus for his followers, or him making any public statements. If he is alive, a$$holes like Stein would demand his release.
Once SEAL team 6 was clear of the place, I would have dropped 3 x 1000 lb bombs in succession on the compound to absolutely reduce it to rubble, just to leave a gaping hole, and send a message to Pakistan and those protecting Bin Laden.
Oh, and whoever ordered the "muslim" burial ritual for his death would have been fired immediately.
And a lawyer like Lynne Stewart who would gladly carry messages to his followers...,.

It is an interesting aspect of all this Islamist b.s., that even while all the Muslims and Muslim lovers in the USA and Europe constantly clamor that “terrorism has nothing to do with Islam” they expect even a mega-terrorist like Bin Laden to receive Muslim rituals in burial.
Suppose we had just disposed of his sorry corpse in any ol’ way, they would have screamed about disrespecting Islam. So which is it, if Bin Laden has to have an Islamic burial (according to these a-holes) then how can it be that his terrorism has “nothing to do with Islam”???
