I'm incensed at the Dolphins team ownership and coaches as well, because I would expect first year head coach Adam Gase to make every effort to prevent such a shameful stunt by any of his players, whether he has disciplinary discretion or not. Thus, he has shown a failure in leadership. I hope enough NFL fans speak out such that Roger Goodell can't ignore us.

In contrast to the 4 shameful Dolphins players who dishonored the national anthem, did anyone notice who was standing directly in front of them in the video? It was none other than a Black United States Marine, in full dress uniform, helping to hold up the giant American flag that was being waved during the anthem.

What a contrast: one Black Marine who was a credit to his race, compared with 4 Black Dolphins players who brought shame instead.

So far, here's my data, please correct any errors:

Is this disrespect displayed by a ‘diversity’ of players or only by Black players?

If so, I guess this proves that ‘reparations’ won’t do anything to improve race relations, since these millionaires don’t seem satisfied with their country.

All Buffalo Bills players were standing with hands on their hearts.

But otherwise didn’t show up for the game....

Does your data consider NFL teams that have had murderers, rapists, molesters, and wife beaters?

The top management of the NFL is the problem. Wear cleats to support 9/11 remembrance and you get fined. Try to honor slain Dallas police and you face disciplinary action. Save yourself some angst and just give up on the NFL.

” If the league can’t maintain a semblance of team discipline and respect for the country, then it’s time for me to move on to other interests.”

It’s well past that time - all sports have been coopted by the left. Time to kick the “opiate of the masses” addiction.

I didn’t watch any game nor do I plan to.

Let’s “Target” the NFL.

Green Bay Packers were either holding the flag (along with a phalanx of 1st responders) or standing behind respectfully!

Why parse it? The league tolerates this behavior. I’m done with NFL.

You know, football is not critical to the average person’s life.

It is very critical to those who make their livings off of it.

Same reasons I don’t go to the movies or give any money to hollyweirdos.

If Unhappy Kappy and other players want to do the kneeling during the Anthem schtick, as disgusting as it is it’s their right to do so. If nothing else, we know who the asshats are, that’s the beauty of the 1st Amendment. My problem is the gutless wonders who run the NFL who allow this behavior but have zero tolerance for players who wanted to wear blue armbands to show support for the police or those who wanted to wear the 9/11 commemorative cleats. Whatever rules there are for what is and isn’t appropriate conduct while on the NFL’s time, either enforce them consistently, or throw out the damn rules altogether.

I hope every one that shows such disrespect has a career ending injury. I don’t care if they die broke. Screw ‘em.

Sincerely,

A couple of thugs from the (Hate)triots were giving the “black power” raised fist salute. Al Michaels referred to it as a demonstration. It just made me even more pissed off when the Cardinals lost a close one to them.

They still suck by the standard you’re applying to the Dolphins.

Disregard Goodell, he’s an idiot. Speak with your wallet.

BTW, it’s been reported here at FR that a few Pats Power-Fisted. Did you notice?

If I were the coach, any player who disrespected the National Anthem would sit on the bench the entire game, even if he were an essential player whose absence would make it certain that my team would lose the game.

“In contrast, the Seattle Seahawks stood as a team and locked arms, and were respectful, so I have no complaint about their behavior.”

In contrast? The whole idea of doing it was to display a dismay with the racial relations in the US. To use the respectful recognition of all the fallen heroes in our history as a political stump is unacceptable. So whether they take a knee, sit down, go to the locker room, raise a fist, or polish their shoes, is just as unrespectful as anyone else. These coddled children are dam lucky to be in a country where they can voice their opinion about something political while they are being paid a tremendous amount of money to play a game and are not downrange in a firefight for their lives.

Alternately that is not the proper way to do it. This is like singing at a funeral. If you’ve got that much of a problem, don’t go to the game. Go talk to your congressman, or senator, or the media. But don’t you dare disrespect some real heroes and their families. That makes you nothing but trash. And I can also add coward to the list?

Detroit Lions: Pass
Some of them participated in holding the huge flag during the national anthem. Oh, and they beat the Colts too!
