FWIW, I was at the Colts/Lions game.
We were greeted by a message from GWB. Then a moment of silence, interrupted only by a boisterous Lions fan. Then a flag the size of the field was unfurled and was held by active duty military, veterans and first responders. Many Lions players helped with the flag, perhaps 20. No players from either team kneeled, sat or otherwise tried to be a putz. The National Anthem was rendered like a boss by an active duty IMPD officer. During the anthem, the in stadium camera cut to a view of an empty chair with a POW/MIA flag above it as it does at every home game. This display is a permanent fixture in the stadium. The Colts also reserve a section for active duty military at every home game. I looked around the stadium, I didn’t see a soul sitting and every hat was off.
Well done by Colts IMO. Quite somber and quite moving for this observer.
Ugh. The media is the co-culprit in this by giving these idiots attention and endorsing their actions. Just saw a headline for a USA Today Sports article “Players protest on 9/11, and that’s fine”
