Realistically, is there time to get a replacement, given that voting has started and ballots have been printed? There is also the fairness issue: Trump and Clinton have been thoroughly vetted for POTUS. The new guy for that job?
Doesn’t matter.... NJ Democrats had a candidate indicted for corruption, they got him replaced by Lautenberg in short order who went on to win easily.
If Hillary really is at death’s door and facing defeat, party elites will find a way to show her the door.
Its never too late.
Gee, may have to postpone the election. Seems I remember some Freepers warning this was a possibility a long time ago
Sticking in a ringer would be bad for the Democrats, but they have done it before and they have bounced back from it. In 1968 Humphrey was nominated, even though he hadn't run in a single primary. After Johnson's withdrawal and Kennedy's assassination McGovern was next in line according to the primary vote tally. The party didn't want McGovern so they just picked Humphrey. That's why the '68 convention drew massive protests.
Al Gore, John Edwards, John Dean, Bernie Sanders all have been vetted. Plenty of losers to pick from.
