Austria's Interior Ministry said on Friday it was considering postponing the re-run of a presidential election that is scheduled on Oct. 2 on technical grounds after ballot papers for postal voting turned out to be damaged.

The election was originally held in May but the Constitutional Court ordered a repeat poll after the far-right Freedom Party (FPO) successfully challenged the result.

Its candidate Norbert Hofer narrowly lost that vote to former Green Party leader Alexander Van der Bullen but has led in recent opinion polls.

"If an apparent failure in production makes it impossible to properly conduct the election, then it is my duty as the highest-ranking executive of the electoral authority to immediately consider a postponement," Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka said in an emailed statement.

An interior ministry spokeswoman said a decision was expected early next week.......

Something smells rotten in Austria.

The Donald Trump like candidate who got a court to rerun a close presidential election earlier this year was leading in the polls.

Now we get word the early voting "postal" ballots have been 'damaged' which may cause a postponement of the re-run of the election.

Wow!

If postal workers in Austria are anything like they are here, they’re union hacks. Perfectly capable and willing to spoil ballots upon orders of Puppetmaster Soros.

Beautiful little Austria is turning into a Banana Republic, just so the left can continue to inundate the country with even more Islamic migrants. So sad. Let me guess, Sobotka wants the postponement to last until radical lefty Van der Bellen goes back up in the polls?

This talked about postponement is mostly about some dimwitted mistakes on the ballot. Based off the June episode and this....they’ve got a quality inspection problem with voting in Austria.

But here’s the kicker....if they postpone this...it’ll be for a week or two at best. If they carry out the postponed election and later find more screw-ups, and have to do another whole election by December...people will lose massive confidence in the government in carrying out what is a typically simple task.

Right now....polling shows the right-wing party probably two to four points ahead of the Green Party.

The story says the Freedom Party is playing it cool, right now.

We’ll see how it plays out. Europe’s Uniparties are desperate to find some tricks to get public opinion on their side and pretend they care.

France’s socialist government is planning reportedly a one billion dollar plus tax cut next year with the Socialist PM Valls attacking burqinis as being anti-women and “New York Times” for saying nice things about them.

Emotional diversionary ‘wedge issues’ as Karl Rove called them to bring what PT Barnum would have called ‘suckers’ into the business as usual political party’s tent with pretend issues instead of the real ones like migration and terrorism, rape and violence.

...postal voting turned out to be damaged.

Well, yeah. They weren't written in Austrian.
