Our biggest hurdle is the number of people seeking handouts is increasing at a remarkable pace.
The responsible producers, who are NOT a load on the system, are becoming a smaller percentage of the population.

Popular Vote is a loser for a Republic.

It wasn’t that long ago that the reverse was true, that it was the Democrats considered to be at a disadvantage. The GOP blurred the lines, erasing the differences and lost their edge.

A number of those states mentioned may go to Trump.

Trump has the ability to dent into those traditionally Democrat states.

The Emerson poll of Rhode Island is a great example.

They will not always win wisconsin. They have not always.

To say always on a state like Wisconsin is nuts.

And this is why Trump must decentralize the federal government.

Too many Virginians work in DC. Most of the federal workers aren’t qualified to work in the public sector (at least not for the same pay). A majority vote for the hand that feeds them which is to say Big Government.

That gives VA and to a lesser extent MD a solid block of Rat voters. Spread that disease to other parts of the country like CA and IL that are already out of reach of the Republican party.

That would put government closer to the people and put VA more in play for Republicans.

If they move to a popular vote, then rural areas and "flyover country" will be ignored.

The election will be won or lost in the large urban centers with the big media markets.

In what way is that an advantage to the Republicans?

People should not be allowed to vote when they are on welfare.

Eliminate winner take all states and do proportional awards (i.e.Nebraska and Maine. Award 1 EV to the winner of each Congressional district. Award a states 2 Senate EV's to the popular vote winner of that state.

California would go 38-42 Democrat balance to Republican's

The founders have it this way to ensure that population centers don’t overwhelm the rest of us

In 2000 it seemed to favor Republicans.

Suggestions that it might be modified produced wailing and gnashing of teeth.

It’s not perfect.

Nothing is.

Ever.

How many of those "sure fire" democrat States went for Reagan the first time he ran?

The problem isn't the electoral college, it's the GOPe preferring to do without control of the Presidency and even accept minority status in the House and Senate rather than go against the money men behind the Republican party.

Trump can change it by winning over a larger than normal share of the black vote. Get 20% of the black vote and he wins in a landslide.

“System is in fact rigged.”

The Electoral College is not rigged, as it is working as the Framers intended, that is to give more power to the people in smaller states.

Under the Electotal College, a person’s vote in Wyoming is more powerful than a person’s vote in California.

If the Democrats have an advantage in the Electoral College, it is only the fault of the Republicans as the Republicans have become moderate thereby disenfranchising conservatives is key former Swing States.

Don’t Blame our Founding Fathers for the Failure of the Republican Party.

Electoral votes for a state depends on population. Democrats flood blue states with illegal aliens, and raise the electoral vote count for those states.

Thank you for referencing that article NoLibZone. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Patriots beware !

Today's politically correct electoral college for electing POTUS has little to do with the constitutionally enumerated process for electing POTUS established by the early states as evidenced by Clause 2 of Section 1 of Article II and the 12th Amendment.

The electoral college is now all about controlling 10th Amendment-protected state powers and associated state revenues that the anti-constitutional republic Progressive Movement has been stealing from the states for many generations and continues to do so.

A part of the problem with the corrupt electoral college is that citizens have grown up with it and consequently think that it is constitutional.

Illegal Aliens counted in the Census skew the distribution of Representatives and subsequently the Electoral College

There is NOTHING requiring EC voters to vote as the are suppose to. Obamatons have infested every single aspect of the federal system that they will do the Obama’s bidding with or without his orders.
