It's difficult because an alzheimer's patient not only isn't appreciative of the help, they are often resentful of it because they sense and fear their own loss of control. So you watch someone you love slip away and cannot even connect fully with them in the short time they have left. It's a very cruel disease.

I think this will be cured someday, though. There are promising new developments. I certainly hope so.

we are not going to cure ageing...lets face that fact...

not only can them be resentful, they can be combative....
