They literally must have had monkeys conducting the survey. Yeah, nice try, WaCompost.

I never knew we had that many monkeys in Texas.

Survey Monkey uses an innovative methodology which allows it to snag large samples at low cost. But, there are pestering questions about it.

Let me compare some Survey Monkey results at the state level to other results issued at about the same time:

AK: SM +8 Trump, Ivan Moore +10 Trump
AZ: SM +2 Trump, AZ Republic +1 Hillary
CT: SM +11 Hillary, Emerson +15 Hillary
FL: SM +2 Hilary, PPP +1 Trump
MD: SM +17 Hillary, OW +19 Trumps
MO: SM +9 Trump, Remington +9 Trump

I see a correlation in these results. This leads me to think CO and TX are competitive. Hillary has started advertising in AZ, so she thinks that state is in play. Hispanics, Never-Trumps and Gary Johnson open up possibilities for Hillary in the SW. On the other hand, the opportunities are there for Trump in the rustbelt. I suspect that if Trump continues to campaign as he has these past several weeks, he will defend our states that have come into play, and take a bunch of their states. I also suspect that Mike Pence could be just what Trump needs to bring the most of the Never Trumps home.
