Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
"Hopefully Hillary Clinton will be elected president," Schultz told CNN's Poppy Harlow in a Facebook Live interview.
Schultz has long been outspoken about his political and social views, but this is the first time he has weighed in on the 2016 presidential race.
Rumors surfaced last year that Schultz himself was considering a campaign for the White House.
He put an end to the speculation with an op-ed in the New York Times last August announcing that he wouldn't run.
Schultz had landed in hot water earlier in the year after he encouraged baristas to talk about race relations with customers and write "race together" on the coffee chain's cups.

Too bad I never buy pretentious overpriced burnt coffee.
Otherwise I’d boycott them.
I would boycott but I don’t go there anyway. I can find good coffee for less than $5 cup.
I have never purchased Starbucks, and now I never intent to
CEO’s should learn to stay neutral (publicly, at least) in politics
It looks like Trump isn’t going to get the artsy, fartsy designer coffee crowd. I hope they all drown in their pumpkin spice.
This does it, I guess. I was vacillating, but when the CEO of Starbucks speaks, I listen. It’s going to be Hillary for me.
I am so glad he helped me in this tough decision.
I go out of my way to avoid Starbucks. The tattooed and pierced baristas feel they are above cleaning the stores.
Never have liked the taste of coffee with cigarette butts in it.
But he said he can't sit quiet through the presidential election.
"I worry if we just continue on this track and don't speak up," he said. "I'm asking myself what can we do, given our scale... to effect change, to elevate the discourse, and to demonstrate that this is not the way the country should be run."
Schultz supported President Obama in the 2012 election.
And who has been president these past 8 years that Schultz clutches his pearls over..."...and to demonstrate that this is not the way the country should be run."
Hmmm...
Concur another reason to not go there.
Surprise, surprise ..... NOT.
Aside from the fact that I can’t stand their overpriced “coffee”, this is yet another reason never to set foot in a Starbucks.
Their coffee is a little over a dollar.
So many of their customers are the wussy types that have white guilt because of white privilege.
I went to startbucks once...
When I asked for a “medium coffee with cream and sugar” he went through this litany of asking if I wanted some “mochal chaka laka grandioso” something-or-other...
I asked him if that meant “mediam coffee with cream and sugar?” and he rolled his eyes at me.
I said “nevermind” and never went back.
Another no balls CEO
Not their suped up stuff. Either way, I won’t support them.
that’s it! Turn off over half the voting population of the country.
Your stock needs to drop more.
Also Boycott Panera Bread, California Pizza Kitchen, Target. They ban guns and they support liberals.
Wow. A crony capitalist supports Clinton. Now that’s a surprise! /sarc
