Who's Driving Climate Denial? Big Companies and Conservative Media

A new study from professors at Oklahoma State University has found that Republicans and Democrats have never been so far apart on climate issues.

"What was once a modest tendency for Congressional Republicans to be less pro-environmental than their Democratic counterparts has become a chasm—with Republicans taking near-unanimous anti-environmental stances on relevant legislation in recent years, especially 2015," the study said.

This distance between the parties was further exacerbated by the rise of the Koch-funded Tea Party, which took the hard line of fully dismissing the climate change threat, often making climate change a lightning rod for voters who were outraged at Washington.

As they stoked fears about the U.S. government attempting to pass legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions, the Tea Party normalized climate denial throughout the Republican Party, according to Ohio State University's Prof. Riley E. Dunlap and Jerrod H. Yarosh, and Michigan State Associate Professor Aaron M. McCright.

The people who are not buying into the CO2 theory are the people who have common sense.

CO2 is plant food.
Life would be impossible without it.
The source of all heat on earth is the Sun.
It does not have a thermostat.
CO2 has nothing to do with that.

Well; I guess all of us EVIL TEA PARTY type people got something accomplished anyway.
Even if it just was trying to notify some people with a better than 5th grade science education that it’s not settled science until it can be tested and proved.
COMPUTER MODELS DON’T COUNT!! (garbage in, garbage out).
E=Mc2 has held up for quite a few years, but now even that’s being tested and questioned.
No disrespect meant to Albert Einstein.

Now it’s “climate denial”. Well, I’m safe enough. I do not deny there’s a climate.

Without the CO2 we would not have the plants to make the oxygen we need to live.

The real question is?

who is pushing the global warming scam and why?

liberals who want to use it as an excuse to push their agenda

green companies and those that invest in them who want to make money off government subsides

environmental scientists who are not real scientist, but instead just far left political operatives willing to fabricate data to push the lie.

and gutless companies that are too afraid to stand up to the left who capitulate and jump on the global warming scam bandwagon.

I am neither a corporation nor a big business. I am guilty of being a climate change denier. I am and engineer trained in the methods used for scientific process evaluation. One of those is validate the hypothesis with experimental results.

This is where the proponents of "climate change" fail so dismally. Instead of realizing their hypothesis fails when real world data is used, they simply adjust the results, not the testing and validation, to get the outcome they desire...more government funding and social condemnation of anyone that opposes them.

“Koch-funded Tea Party” is a term with a lack of precision almost as great as “climate change denial”. If these jerkoffs want to claim the scientific high-ground, it would be nice if they started with the use of terminology that wasn’t so malleable as to mean whatever the user wants it to mean, even if that meaning varies from individual to individual.

Why can’t Oklahoma fire these weasels? OK is a Republican stronghold. Trump is almost doubling The Corruption in the polls.

Why can’t Oklahoma say: “YOU’RE FIRED!”

Who's Driving Climate Denial?

Mostly people who understand the scientific method, are able to reason, and have IQs above room temperature, I would think.

Oh, and by the way - I don't think anyone denies the existence of climate.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Instead of realizing their hypothesis fails when real world data is used

It's not even that.

Ask them to state the null hypothesis. I mean, seriously, what is it?

Is it that climate is invariant? 10 kYa my land was under two miles of ice, and my ancestors were in the Franco-Cantabrian refugium.

So I hope invariant climate isn't the null hypothesis, because that would be STUPID.

Having worked on environmental issues for one of the biggest companies on the planet and colaborated on projects with many others, I can tell you that they have not opposed the global warming nonsense. They bought into it lock stock and barrel even though it hurt some of our biggest businesses. The hope was that they could make money supplying equipment and developing new tech. It didnt work out that way as anyone with a brain could have predicted.
