In America, public school students arent likely to hear about the Bible on the first day of classes.
But, in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with 200 students, along with Education Minister Naftali Bennett, and urged them to be serious about Bible study in the public schools.
Reminiscing about his school days, Netanyahu told the students to learn and be good children. In his speech, he emphasized coexistence and, at the same time, the importance of learning Jewish history.
I want you to listen to me because I want you to learn learn to write, learn to read, learn Hebrew, Arabic and English, he said. I want you to learn mathematics. I want you to learn science. I want you to learn history history of the Jewish People, the history of your public. I want you to learn the truth, and the truth says that we were destined to live together.

He is right. And Christians would do well to study the Bible with a view to the Jewish influence throughout. I know this sounds like a no-brainer, but it is very easy for us to read Scripture as if it were written with America in mind.....
Go find Othodox rabbis to learn from.
“He emphasized COEXISTence.”
Appears he is perfectly aligned with Pope and Islam.
In middle school, we had a bible class.
That was in the mid 80s.
I’ve met several clergy of varying religions over the years who did not even study the Old Testament in seminary, and who continued to not have a clue of what it was about.
I’ve listened to a conservative and reform rabbi or two when the local temples had open houses and food festivals. I live close to both places.
The orthodox crowd tends to keep quiet for whatever reason.
Last weekend I went to my first estate sale. It was down the street. I bought a few things. They had a lot of Judeaica that was still sitting at the end.
Really? What seminaries did they attend? That is a tragedy.
For a Jew, the Bible is a record of their own people.
Once one accepts Christianity, the Jewish Bible is of limited influence and interest. Today’s PC Christianity has no use for the Jewish Bible at all, except as a benighted contrast to to their own imagined moral superiority.
I hope you are not serious. The T’anakh (Old Testament) is of UTMOST importance, and has been since the first century church. The gospel of Matthew is replete with quotes and allusions to the Hebrew Scriptures, and the gospel of Mark *opens* with a quote from Isaiah.
The NT is a bounty of reflections, echoes, quotes, and allusions on the OT.
Another reason, among many, why the MSM hates Bibi. They tolerate this kind of talk from Obama because they know he’s lying.
Only if the "Christianity" is something like Marcionism (an early heresy which effectively claimed that the God of the Jewish Bible and the God of the Christian Bible were two different "gods").
It's impossible to correctly understand the Christian Bible apart from the Hebrew Scriptures on which it is based, IMO. Actually, without at least a sketchy knowledge of the sacrificial aspect of the Law, and the history of the Davidic kingdom, things don't really make much sense.
THE SAME ONE AL (SHARPIE) SHARPTON DID??
