MSNBC’s Joy Reid, who was swift to condemn Republican concerns of voter fraud, was equally as fast at accusing them of plotting to steal the election. Reid’s concern centered on a computer system called CrossCheck which was developed to find duplicate names on the voter rolls so they can be removed. But Reid and her guest Rolling Stone writer Greg Palast, who brought the issue to her attention, accuse the system of targeting minorities. “The system disproportionality targets voters of color who are likely to have common surnames, like Washington or Hernandez,” Reid stated. Took words out of my mouth. What the heck is she smoking? There are so many surnames which are not normally associated with ethnic minorities.
Just an FYI, I knew a guy in Pennsylvania, a white man, whose last name was Washington. So it’s really bigoted to just assume such a name is a black surname.
And I also heard of, didn’t know him though, but heard of a black man with the last name Lapenski. Such a surname sounds Polish or eastern European, definitely a “white” name. Yet such name was held by a black man.
Liberals can be so bigoted sometimes.
