Ohio abortion facility torn down to make way for pro-life memorial

An Ohio abortion facility shuttered by state health inspectors has been demolished to make way for a memorial for the unborn.

The Center for Choice clinic in Toledo, Ohio, was shut down in 2013 after inspectors found moldy and rusted equipment, reported the Christian Times.

The facility also violated a state regulation requiring it to have a transfer agreement with a local hospital in the event of a failed abortion. It was forced to pay a $25,000 fine as a result of the violations.

Various pro-life groups teamed up to buy the site in 2014 and plan to build Hope Park Memorial to the Unborn on the location.

“The memorial is dedicated to the tragic loss of lives that occurred during that time span,” the park’s website reads. “Over 50,000 documented abortions occurred during that span.”

Carol Dunn, the clinic’s former owner, was dismayed when

“It seems to me, since it was an abortion clinic, they could capitalize on women going to the door seeking an abortion and try to talk them into not having one,” Ms. Dunn told LifeSiteNews. “They have no taste. It’s a lovely building.”

A recent abortion clinic survey revealed that 81% of the abortion clinics in the US have closed since 1991.

That's right, 81%.
