A meeting with Mexico’s president and fiery rhetoric on immigration gave the GOP presidential candidate his best fundraising day yet
Donald Trump brought in $5 million in small-dollar donations on Wednesday, marking a single-day high in the GOP candidate's fundraising efforts, a campaign official says.
The haul came as Trump earned mixed reviews on a busy day that saw him travel to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Pena Nieto before delivering a fiery speech on immigration in Arizona.
Brad Parscale, Trump's digital director, told The Wall Street Journal that the figure, which only tallies online donations of less than $200, does not include phoned-in or mailed-in contributions.
Trump's day – first, a hastily arranged trip to Mexico City to meet privately with Pena Nieto, then a long-awaited address on immigration in Phoenix – seemed keyed to two different, and often contradictory, audiences.

At the very least, we finally have a candidate who will actually fight; will actually speak the truth; one who is unafraid of the extreme left-wing media. This is the first time I have seen this in a major republican candidate in almost 30 years. I pray that Trump will win. But, win or lose, he is worthy of my support. I will continue sending him contributions.

Definitely not my first contribution, but wonder how many others could not complete contributions.
From now on, whenever a fool starts saying dumb stuff about Trump why they don’t support him, my response will be constant. I’ll direct them to RSBN to listen to Trump’s 8/31 immigration speech. I’ll say that I’ll gladly discuss the merits of each candidate with them, but not until they’ve listened to the speech.
