Some do, indeed, because of the too-evident similarities.

It really ought to be a false dilemma to have to choose between the European Union and the Eurasian Union (the name Putin is currently using for his neo-USSR). But the power vacuum in the world is enabling that.

Thanks for the discussion Olag-hai.

Putin is in some ways a fool, in that he is allowing the Eastern portion of his nation to be occupied much like the Southwest of the United States is being occupied.

He seems to think China has his best interests are heart, and Europe is his biggest threat.
